Youth Fight For Jobs Protest

KU Politics student Jessica holding a banner Marching with three KU Students at the Youth Fight For Jobs Protest in London on 28 November 2009. A 1,000 strong crowd turned out for the campaign and Riveronline followed three of them on their journey.

University College, London, 12PM. Demonstrators prepare the last details for the Youth Fight for Job March.	12:30 PM - Malet Street. A vocal march organizer, member of the Socialist Party, warms up the converging protestors.	Jessica, 19, Dave, 20 and Matt, 20 deploy their homemade “no tuition fees” banner. They are Kingston University first years.
Jessica, 19 studies Politics at KU. Today is her first march and she does not really know what to expect .	12:50 PM - “Workers and students, unite and fight”, shouts a demonstrator.	Between 700 (police source) and 1300 (organizers) demonstrators joined the march. Overall, around one thousand people attended.
1.45PM - Downing street. The procession stops. Sean Figgs, the national chair for YFFJ brought a petition to Gordon Brown.	Downing Street. Dave protests loudly: “New Labour is no Labour at all, they are not interested in students.	3:30PM- Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park “It’s the end of the March today, but not the end of the campaign ”, says Sean Figgs.
16:30 - Night is falling. Jessica is pleased with her first march: “’I feel energetic. I feel like we are achieving something"
