Our 10 most anticipated albums coming in 2018

In 2017 we got the opportunity to listen to some truly amazing pieces of music and if the quality of work from many of our favourite artists is any indication of what to expect in 2018 then we are truly in for a treat this year.

Here is the list of our 10 most anticipated albums that we can’t wait to hear this year.

White has announced that his next album will be named ‘Boarding House Reach’ and be released on March 23. This is his third solo album and he claims it will be his most ambitious work so far. The first single from the upcoming album Connected by Love was released to a massive critical acclaim.

9- Charlie XCX

2017 was a big year for the British pop star, with two massively successful mixtapes that have had several hit singles. Despite the fact that her album was constantly delayed throughout 2017 due to issues with her record label it means that there is a pretty good chance we will get to hear her album this year.

8- Nicki Minaj

Although the name and release date have yet to be announced, Nicki Minaj confirmed in 2017 that she would be releasing her “best body of work” to date. It is rumoured to be a classic hip-hop album and will be her first album since ‘The Pinkprint’ was released in 2014.

7- The Vaccines

The Vaccines will be returning with their fourth studio album ‘Combat Sports’, set to be released on March 30th, 2018. After the bands’ three-year hiatus, they have also announced a full UK tour for April 2018. The band says they will be returning to their roots on their upcoming album.

6- Major Lazer

Back in 2015 Major Lazer announced they were working on a new album titled ‘Music is the weapon’ and not much is known about the album at the moment. With rumours swirling around the internet it is unsure if the album will be released this year but rumours point to a March 16 release date.

5- Fall Out Boy 

‘Mania’ will be Fall Out Boy’s seventh studio album and is being released on January 19 2018, following the American bands’ ‘Mania’ tour which started in September and is continuing until April 12 2018.

4- The Prodigy

The British electronic music group from Essex will be releasing their seventh studio album. Having been around since 1990 they are one of the oldest and most experienced artists on this list and their album will be released in early 2018 – three years after their last album, The Day Is My Enemy.

3- Bastille

This the Indie bands’ third album since their emergence to fame in 2010, their new album features ‘World Gone Mad’ which will be featured in Netflix’s original film Bright, which stars Will Smith. The album is currently being produced and will be released later this year.

2- Arctic Monkeys

After a four-year hiatus, the Sheffield band are back, announcing an album to come later this year, with a tour to follow. After the success of their last album, A.M., and the four-year wait, this will no doubt be one of the most sought-after and well-anticipated albums of the year.

1- Craig David

Craig David’s re-emergence over the past few years has seen him grow immensely in popularity. He is currently touring the states but will be playing his new album at the Hippodrome on the 26 January and it looks to be a good one with collaborations with Bastille and others.
