Model scouts discover fresh talent at the Bentall Centre

Scouts from Models 1 recruited several ‘potential models’ during the Bentall Centre Fashion Week‘s final show this Saturday.

The centre was packed with shoppers eager to see the show and aspiring models hoping to be discovered. The scouts were present all day on the lookout for fresh faces.

Head of new faces at Models 1, Alice Gibson, said: “We’ve found loads of potential models here today, we found so many gorgeous girls here last year that we decided to come back. Kingston is always really good, we even found someone outside.”

The Bentall Centre puts on a fashion show twice a year, one in the spring and one in September.

In May, Models 1 are planning to do a show of their own. Miss Gibson said: “It will be along the lines of this one, we’re still at the planning stage, but we’ll have a catwalk and models from Models 1 only.”

Every half hour from 12am to 5pm, presenter Jo Wilson and the models appeared on stage sporting all the latest spring must-haves from Zara, Superdry, Espirit, Fat Face, Polarn O. Pyret and many others.

Hair and make-up was done by Kingston College students and staff from the Armani make-up store.

Presenter and fashion stylist Jo Wilson said: “The turnout has been absolutely fantastic, it’s always great on a Saturday.”

If you weren’t at the Bentall Centre during fashion week but would still like to get in touch with Models 1, you can email them directly on and arrange to come in for an interview.
