Format: PS3

Genre: First Person shooter

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the latest installment in the series and sold 6.5 million units in the US and UK within 24 hours of its release.

The single player campaign is a complete spectacle. Amazing set pieces serve as environments for full-scale war. This is no understatement.

The campaign mode is one of unpredictability, a roller coaster ride taking you all over world in the role of various characters.

Shooting mechanics

The shooting mechanics feel very responsive and well adjusted. Players are always given different situations that mix-up the game play just enough to keep things interesting.

As always with the COD series, the online multiplayer facility is fantastic. All 16 maps are exciting to play, with new challenges added for completion. The rewards and points you get for achieving these challenges will keep you addicted to the game.

Whether you play for 10 minutes or 10 hours online you will always feel  you’ve accomplished something.

Kill streaks

The familiar kill streaks have been revised into strike packages. This enables players to create tailor-made kill streaks to suit the individual characteristics of players.

There is also a host of new game modes added to MW3. Kill confirmed, Special ops, new private matches and Team defender, are just some of the new modes alongside the originals. There is plenty here to keep you entertained for a long time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is everything we expected and so much more. With a host of new features and rewards, the online multiplayer facility is the best it has ever been.
