Kingston’s season ended in defeat at the hands of rivals Surrey as the Stags won 4-2 in a thrilling game at Varsity in Guildford.

The Cougars looked on course to record their third successive win against Surrey this season by taking a promising 2-1 lead into half time.

However, they let it slip in sloppy fashion in the final 10 minutes of the match, by conceding three quick goals.

Bitter disappointment

Kingston’s Will Reedman-White was bitterly disappointed with the final result and thought it was “thoroughly undeserved”.

He said: “We played some good hockey but in the end, it’s one of those things and you can’t win them all.”

A positive outlook

In a season where Kingston finished third in the table, Reedman-White managed to muster a grin as he added: “At the end of the day, Surrey are going down next season and we’re staying up.”
