KU rugby after beating Middlesex 55-0 at Allianz Park

The men’s rugby team are building up to a must win game at home to Portsmouth on Wednesday in order to gain promotion.

Portsmouth are top of the table, three points ahead of Kingston in second so a win for the Cougars would see them gain promotion on points difference.

Captain Thomas Walsh said: “It’s the game we’ve been building towards all season, it’s now or never. We have to win, we will win.”

Kingston lost 20-10 against Portsmouth at the start of the season, but the home side are confident they can return the result and grab the one promotion spot available in the league.

The Cougars have won all seven matches since the last match against Portsmouth by at least 30 points, so the formula is in place for the champagne to flow on Wednesday afternoon.
