The Students’ Union’s shop in Kingston Hill will be closed until Easter 2013 for refurbishment, said KUSU representatives.

The union hoped that the refurbishment works would have been finished by last September but apparently, “university deadlines have slipped significantly”.

Mark Horne, general manager of the Student Union, said: “Obviously we aren’t happy about not having the shop open but the uncertainty about timescales over the summer meant we had to make a decision.

“In the next week or so we hope to be able to launch the designs for the new shop.”

Grace Crawley, a 21-year-old law student based in Kingston Hill, said: “I’m pretty annoyed about it actually, as it was quite convenient when I needed one or two basic things.”
