Kingston market set to hold a Tudor Christmas

Kingston is set to host an unforgettable Christmas shopping experience this year, holding a Tudor Christmas market as well as a number of new stores opening for business.


The traditional Tudor-style Christmas marketplace, inspired by the royal heritage of the town, promises culinary delight, quality handmade art, crafts and gifts as well entertainment by local carol singers and musicians.

Organiser Paul Kennedy said: “Kingston upon Thames is putting together some very exciting attractions this Christmas and we are confident that the market will perfectly compliment the town’s other festiv events and activities.


“We are delighted to have been chosen to provide this exciting and magical event.”


Gift shopping


Shoppers can also expect more stores for gift-hunting, after a massive 88 new companies were formed in Kingston, according to the latest Duport report, an account of business trends and performance in the UK. 


Managing director of Duport, Peter Valaitis, said: “Excellent local facilities and its proximity to central London have made [Kingston] a highly desirable place to live, and therefore it has become a highly desirable place to do business.”


Mr Valaitis added: “Kingston upon Thames has escaped the worst effects of the recession.”


Visitors can enjoy the festivities from November 8 to December 24 in Kingston’s town square.
