Fairfield Road stabbing victim named

Metropolitan Police have named a 24-year-old man who died following an incident in Kingston last Thursday as Michael Agyare.

Police believe Agyare, 24, from Morden, was stabbed on Fairfield Road then staggered into a nearby pub garden on Fairfield East looking for help.

Despite the best efforts of customers and staff at the pub to save him he was pronounced dead at the scene by the emergency services.

The Met Police Specialist Crime Command has launched a murder investigation.

A 25-year-old man arrested on Monday on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail.

On Tuesday a 31-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and released on bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: “Our investigation continues with the arrest of a man but we still urgently need to speak to anyone who may have information about what happened on Thursday evening.

“It is really important that if you witnessed any part of this incident, even if you don’t think it was important, you please come forward and speak to us.

“My thoughts are very much with this young man’s family and friends.”
