V.a.s.t. Society joint uni anime contest was a success

Last Friday, Kingston University’s V.a.s.t. Society (video games, anime, sci-fi/fantasy and tabletop games Society) held their special anime crossover event with Roehampton and St. Mary’s Anime and Manga societies in the John Galsworthy building at Penryn Road.

The event lasted three hours, filled with anime music, Kahoot quiz games, impromptu karaoke and a group-watch anime session.

The lecture hall was full of students from all departments, including chemistry student, Ed Penny, who joins V.a.s.t. activities weekly. Although not a huge anime fan himself, he said: “It was nice seeing the enthusiasm people have for anime, everyone here is so engaging and participating.”

Shin, the president of the society was pleased with the reactions to the event and is looking forward to a Halloween event coming up this week which will be held in Hannaford’s Bar in Kingston Hill campus from 6-11pm.

There will be a selection of games, food, music, and a costume contest. All members are welcome to join and non-members can also buy entry tickets for just £3.
