Kingston dance students may get the chance to perform in next year’s production of a new inter-university show, which is being hosted by stars from Made in Chelsea.

The brand new organisation, Fusion @ London, is putting on their first talent-filled show later this month and has named Kingston University as one of next year’s audition locations.

“Next year Kingston will have to be an audition location as I’ve seen, first-hand, the dance talent of Kingston students,” said Sophie Hutchison, 19, press representative for Fusion @ London. “They would be an absolutely fantastic contribution to the show.”

The first ever annual inter-university show, hosted by Chelsea reality stars Spencer Matthews, Hugo Taylor and Alexandra ‘Binky’ Felstead, will feature an exciting variety of dance, fashion, live music, circus aerialists, sword dancers and much more, with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.

A 4,000 strong audience will be treated to fashion collections from the likes of London College Alumni, including Ara Jo, whose designs have been worn by Lady Gaga, as well as live music from upcoming artists Sunday Girl and three MTV ‘Brand New for 2012’ nominees, Clement Marfo & The Frontline, Charli XCX and Angel.

The Fusion @ London two-night gala will take place on February 25 and 26, with tickets starting from £15, which are on sale now from London’s Troxy Theatre website.

Fusion founder, Angela Udemba, 25, said: “Fusion @ London is the first step towards fostering a closer collaborative relationship between the capital’s student population.

“It is quite an ambitious show, of a professional standard, organised entirely by students. Kingston University students can get involved by attending this year’s event and hopefully joining the Fusion team for next year’s show.”

The show has been put together by a team of Cancer Research UK funded postgraduates, as well as students from some of London’s top universities including King’s College, Imperial, UCL and more.

Fusion then joined forces with the Made in Chelsea stars, who will present the two-night talent extravaganza at London’s Troxy Theatre.

“The excitement surrounding the 2012 London Olympics encouraged me to approach the Union representatives of a number of universities and convince them that 2012 is the perfect year to create the first ever inter-university event,” Angela said. “I received very enthusiastic responses and Fusion @ London was born.”

The organisation, with the help of the Made in Chelsea stars, hope to raise over £50,000 for Cancer Research UK.
