Review: Heaven is out of bounds for those on Saints Row

Saints Row is back for the third time on Playstation 3, and it is probably the most fun you will have on a games console this year.

With crazy weaponry, über violence and scenes of a sexual nature, this latest installment is set to be Grand Theft Auto’s kinkier cousin.

The game lets you to create your own character whose goal, as the leader of the Saints gang, is the total domination of New York stylized Steel port, by any means necessary.

The game immediately throws you in at the deep end as you leap out of a plane into an aerial shootout, free-fall into a rival gangs’ penthouse and use a drone to fire missiles at tanks.

There is always something to do, from stealing vehicles for the chop shop, to taking on assassinations. Various challenges are thrown your way to complete such as streaking, wheelies on a motorbike, and killing people in bizarre mascot outfits to earn respect and cash.

The crazy weapons called ‘apocafists’, that you get given throughout the game, can cause some serious damage as well as providing interesting game play, making up for the unfortunate, poor visuals.

Saints Row the Third won’t disappoint if you’re looking for something a little different to add to your collection. Just be prepared for some seriously bloody game play.
