From the viral Twisted Love by Ana Huang to Madeline Miller’s The Song of Achilles, here are five books getting screen treatment this year.
Twisted Love by Ana Huang
The Twisted series by Ana Huang has been a BookTok sensation, and Netflix has officially secured the right for the first book in the series, Twisted Love. It follow the lives of Ava Chen, a photography student haunted by her traumatic past and Alex Volkov, her brother’s best friend, who is consumed by thirst for revenge. With themes of passion, betrayal and redemption, this series is expected to premiere late in 2025.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Fans have long awaited the adaptation of this novel, and Netflix is bringing it to life. The story is about Hollywood legend Evelyn Hugo, who reveals the secrets of her scandalous past and seven marriages to a journalist hiding secrets of her own. The film is in pre – production stage, with Maggie Betts as director, it’s set to premiere late 2025.
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
The highly popular A Court of Thorns and Roses series, which blends romance, adventure, and magic is getting a Netflix adaptation. Feyre Archeron’s journey into the mysterious world of fae and complicated relationships make this tale worth reading before its release.
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
This beautiful retelling focuses on the relationship between Achilles and Patroclus, and it’s known for being heart breaking and poetic. A film adaptation is officially in the works, and while we don’t know exactly when it’ll hit the big screen, it’s expected to be released in 2026, with filming expected to start this year.
Addicted to You by Krista Ritchie and Becca Ritchie
Addicted to You is the first book in the Addicted series, and its all about a steamy complex relationship between Lily and Lo, who are both dealing with addiction. The book has a huge fanbase on TikTok, and people love the raw emotional focus to the story. The film adaptation has been in the works for some time, but there’s still no official release date.
