It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas. The sunlight is in short supply and the weather is getting colder. It means one thing: time to stay in and get into the festive mood with your favourite movies.

This list has the perfect Christmas films that have come out this year, leaving you to indulge into something new.

Grab a blanket, your favourite festive pjs, some hot chocolate and get cosy.

Your Christmas Or Mine?

This new Amazon Prime original feels like a British sitcom movie with the festive family vibe. It makes you want to spend your time with your family this holiday.

Two young students are in love and heading home for Christmas as they decide to swap trains and surprise each other.

Passing each other in the station, they are completely unaware that they have just swapped Christmases. They learn alot about each other without having to spend the time together.

Spirited

This musical version of the Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol, starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds premiered only on Apple TV+, and is a must watch.

The ghosts of Christmas make it their mission to redeem people for Christmas. The Ghost of Christmas Present is nearing retirement, which would means he can return to Earth and live a human life again.

He sets his sights on an “unredeemable” man, a man who ends up helping the Ghost come to terms with his own past.

Falling For Christmas

Netflix’s Falling for Christmas is Lindsay Lohan’s return to the screen. The story follows a newly engaged heiress who, after suffering a ski accident, is diagnosed with amnesia and left in the care of a ski lodge owner (Chord Overstreet) and his daughter.

It has the feel of a cheesy Christmas movie with a bit of festive cheer and love.

The Noel Diary

The best kinds of Christmas films are those that somehow end up in a whirlwind of events that you least expect. In The Noel Diary, we follow a best-selling author who returns home at Christmas to settle his mother’s estate upon her death.

In his path he discovers a diary that holds secrets to the past and also to Rachel, an intriguing young woman on a mission of her own. Together, they embark on a journey to confront their pasts and discover a future that’s totally unexpected.

A movie that touches on family issues, childhood, love and Christmas all in one.
