KU’s futsal team emerged victorious in their second game of the season, away against Brunel University, winning by a score of 7-0 at the Brunel University Sports Centre.

It was a resounding victory for the KU Cougars, as they never seemed to break a sweat throughout the entire match.

“We’ve had a good start to the season with a couple of decent wins. Hopefully we can keep this up. I started the season wanting to win both the cup and the league, and that is still my ambition,” said Joao Brunetti, captain of the team.

Kingston were ruthless in attack, constantly pressuring the Brunel defence from the first whistle. The defence remained compact throughout, keeping their first clean sheet of the season.

“We’ve got a good squad, willing to learn more about the sport, and a very experienced coach in Sam Sandri. We’ll have tougher challenges ahead, but hopefully we can keep up this form,” said Joao.

Kingston face Medway next, in their first game of the South Eastern Conference Cup, followed by another league fixture against table toppers Surrey.

The result keeps Kingston second on the Men’s South Eastern Tier 2 table, just behind the University of Surrey with two games in hand.

“We want to keep up this positivity and have more victorious days like this, each time we step out onto the court, we represent Kingston. There is such a feel good factor around this team, we’re aiming to end the season with silverware, whether it be in the cup or league,” said Sam Sandri, KU’s Men’s Futsal Team coach.
