Mexican restaurant guilty of possessing fake vodka

Mexican restaurant El Peyote may have its licence revoked by Kingston Council after being found guilty of possessing fake vodka.

Approximately 150 bottles of fake Smirnoff Vodka were found in the cocktail bar on Richmond Road in September.

“The decision for El Peyote does not take effect until the period for appeals, 21 days, passes. If they appeal, the decision will not take effect until such time as the appeal is disposed of, ” said a Kingston Council spokesman.

The bar is now trading under new management.
