Across the UK, halls of residence are becoming more expensive.

The cost of living in halls in the UK has become higher than the cost of sharing a flat during the last 12 months.
As tuition fees grow and university admissions fall, those who decide to flatshare can save up to £1,200 compared to the average cost when living in halls.
Director of easyroommate.com, Jonathan Moore, said: “As the cost of studying climbs ever higher, more and more students will be considering their options in order to save a few pounds.”
Felicitas Reichmann, 22, Kingston graduate in PGCE secondary German, said: “I do know of the benefits of living in halls, but sharing a flat simply seemed more convenient for me than paying the annual fee when living on campus.”
Despite the higher cost, halls do have positive benefits.
Mr Moore said: “Halls of residence have many advantages and can be a great social hub when first starting out at university.”
