Kingston University has introduced a new way to order food and drinks from the university’s canteen to help maintain social distancing and avoid the queues.

KU has announced a partnership with the Breaz app that is specifically designed to order food from canteens.

“Mainly the reason for this app is to avoid queues and to maintain social distancing. We want to evolve. To give students and staff more options,” said Ana Zeferino, General Manager of Hospitality at Kingston University’s Penrhyn Road campus.

“Students can order food or drinks on the app and come and collect them at the collection point in the canteen. We are currently testing the app at the Marketplace in Penrhyn Road campus, but the app will also be available in the Town House and Kingston Hill campus,” Zeferino said.

The partnership with the Breaz app was introduced last week and students are being encouraged to download it.

“For now, the app has a breakfast menu, the grab-and-go selection, hot drinks and soft drinks. We will be adding our hot food menu to it as well,” Zeferino said.
