A new panini machine went up in smoke causing the evacuation of Kingston University’s Penrhyn road campus before 11am on Thursday, October 20.

An employee at the foodstore used too much oil on the new piece of machinery, setting off the alarms.

The fire brigade arrived outside the University promptly and quickly declared the building safe.
