Student deals saving you money

Going out is expensive, especially for students, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay indoors in front of your laptop. The River is here to save you money and bring you the best deals available this month.

Cinema tickets are getting more pricey all the time. If you’re a regular cinema-goer it might be worth investing in an Odeon Premiere club card. It costs as little as £1.99 to get one and you earn points every time you spend money in the cinema. You can choose to spend your points on drinks, food or cinema tickets. You then recieve the added bouus that, every Tuesday, members get 25 per cent off their tickets.

Or perhaps you’d prefer a quiet night in? If so, both Lovefilm and Netflix are currently doing 30-day free trials. Lovefilm has a bigger library but you’re limited to how many films you can stream or get sent to you, depending on which package you choose. Netflix doesn’t have as many films and TV shows as LoveFilm but you can stream it instantly to your phone, computer, ipad or PS3 and watch as much as you like! Just remember to cancel before your free month is up.

Fed up with microwave pizzas and ready-made meals? Sounds like you need a meal out for a change. If so, the website www.moneysavingexpert.com has some great vouchers for Pizza Express, Cafe Rouge, Frankie & Benny’s, Gormet Burger Kitchen and more.

Another great site to check out on a regular basis is www.studentbeans.com. You’ll need to sign up to gain access to the deals, but they have new deals each day ranging from 2-for-1 cinema tickets, to meal deals and even savings on fashion. Everything the average student needs.
