Food banks in our area have seen an increase in demand as a consequence of the pandemic, a recent report by the Trussel Trust has revealed.

One local food bank is located at the Everyday Church in Kingston town centre. Among the devoted volunteers working there is 22-year-old philosophy and creative writing student, Myron Zhang.

Zhang wanted to make a positive contribution to his local community. This is his experience with volunteering at the front line of food poverty.
