Kingston’s Christmas market opened yesterday morning displaying a myriad of festive gifts alongside food and drink stalls.

The Alpine Village, which is located in Market Place, is open until Christmas Eve allowing shoppers to squeeze in last-minute gift buying and spectators to sing along to live music performances under the cozy ambience of the lights.

The snowy themed entrance takes visitors through the covered marquee beginning at the handcrafted art, ceramic and wool stalls.

Through the tent, finer and niche items can be found, ranging from silver and gemstone jewellery to exotic chilli jams. Toward the end, every foodie’s heaven can be found with displays of country cheese, cakes and Turkish desserts.

Back outside, there is a fire pit with a pop-up cafe nearby serving hot beverages and food, including hog roast rolls and mulled wine.

The Christmas market, lights, and tree in the town centre are wonderful local gems of Kingston and a must-see for all students wishing to fully embrace the festive spirit.

The market is open between 10am-6pm Sunday to Wednesday and 10am-8pm Thursday to Saturday, offering free entry to all.
