By River Reporter Feb 21, 2013

Kingstonian Cricket Club is looking for new players ahead of the 2013 season, which starts at the beginning of May.

Ryan Rocastle

Kingstonian, who plays their home games in New Malden at Kings College London sports ground, has five teams in total. They have three competitive Saturday league teams and a Saturday and Sunday friendly team.

Terry Jacobs, who helps run the club said, “We compete in three really competitive leagues but also have some friendly teams so you will get put in a team based on your ability. We are a bit low on wicket-keepers so could really do with some of them.”

Friendly club

The club has already started to prepare for the upcoming campaign, having net sessions on Sunday nights.

Jacobs describes Kingstonian as a “friendly” club. Match fees that have to be paid are £10 for students and £15 pounds for adults.

Cricket has always been known as the number one summer sport for England and its popularity has increased since the new 20-20 format of the game was brought in.
