Kingston University women’s badminton firsts were crowned the south eastern 3A champions following the cancellation of their final league match.

The women’s badminton team finished an impressive season without losing a match but the chance for celebration was cut short when their final league match did not take place and they were awarded the win.
The home side were to have faced East London firsts on Wednesday evening at the Kingston college arena but the away team did not show.
BUCS announced that East London were “unable to field the team”.
The resulting forfeit meant that Kingston grabbed the points from the game taking them to first place in the league, one point ahead of Brunel in the race for the title.
