Kanye West’s Twitter and Instagram accounts have been locked following his latest questionable behaviour, posting an anti-semitic rant on the platforms.

While debuting his Yeezy season 9 collection at Paris Fashion Week, West also stoked controversy when he posted a picture of him and Candace Owens sporting ‘White Lives Matter’ t-shirts on Instagram.

Mahad Ahmed, a KU computer science student, said: “His actions make no sense, it seems like a publicity stunt and I think he’s definitely on a downward spiral.”

Following the White Lives Matter t-shirt post, came his deleted Instagram story in which he stated: “Everyone knows that Black Lives Matter was a scam, now it’s over, you’re welcome.”

This was said by West as a response to ambiguity over where the $90 million raised by Black Lives Matter went.

“I saw his post on Instagram, and I agree that the Black Lives Matter scheme is flawed, however I don’t think anyone is taking him seriously.

“No right minded person would do all of this, he is clearly in need of help.” Said Zahra Maslah, a chemistry student.

She followed by saying that it was the responsibility of bigger news outlets such as TMZ to not give him any attention, rather than social media platforms to lock his account.

The Holocaust Museum responded to West’s deleted tweet where is said he was ‘going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE’ by inviting him to their museum to educate himself.

West has often been scrutinised for his comments concerning race especially his 2018 comment in the TMZ office live where he claimed “slavery was a choice.”

Ahmed said: “He needs to be aware he is doing all of this in the public eye and he has a big audience that follows him on social media.”

What is apparent is that West has gone from one of the most iconic figures in rap and Black American culture, to being seen as someone who, as Ahmed put it, “no Black person should take seriously”.
