Today is Remembrance Sunday and here are some events that you can attend to pay your respects to servicemen and women who lost their lives during the two World Wars.
All Saints Church
Kingston’s historic parish church will be holding a service at 11:15 am. The service will include Holy Communion, an act of remembrance at the Memorial Garden and a choral evening service.
Surbiton Remembrance Day Parade
Surbiton’s annual Remembrance Day Parade will take place this Sunday at 10:45 am. The march will start from the Surbiton Royal British Legion Club, Hollyfield Road, up to the War Memorial on Ewell Road. The Salute will take place on the steps of the Surbiton Hill Methodist Church.
The Cenotaph
Members of emergency services, soldiers, airmen and women and the Royal family will pay their annual respects at the Cenotaph at Whitehall this Sunday.
The King will lay a new wreath which was designed to pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II and his grandfather, King George VI.
Members of the public are welcomed to watch the ceremony from the pavements along Whitehall and Parliament Street from 8 am.
