Lucy Rose wows her fans in Banquet Records

0 0

The 100-strong crowd, squeezed into the intimate setting of Banquet Records, let out an audible sigh of disappointment when she told them it was her final song.

A flash of a cheeky smile overflowed from the mic stand, however, reenergising the crowd who had been nervy to start with but were quickly converted by the down-to-earth singer.

Her melodic tunes, such as First, which Lucy kicked off the in-store gig with, had the crowd swaying, silently awestruck. Do not let that fool you though, by the end of the short, six-song set. Lucy had them shouting along with her. Quite impressive for the chilled, acoustic tones that spilled out from her guitar and out onto Eden Street.

After the show, she jumped out from her make-shift stage behind the shop counter for photos and a signing with the fans.

“I discovered her in this shop exactly a year ago today,” said 20-year-old economics student Lizzie Carse. “What a way to escape from Oceana,” she added.

After shooting to 14th in the iTunes chart, who is to say if she will play intimate gigs like this again in the near future? Watch this space.
