Rose Theatre to screen 2012 Olympics for free

If you are too poor to attend the 2012 Olympics in London, do not fear – the Rose Theatre is offering a cheaper alternative.

For ten days the theatre will show live highlights from the games on its massive 8m x 4m screen for free.

Chief executive of the Rose Theatre, Robert O’Dowd, said: “With the cost of Olympic tickets making it hard for many students to travel to the games, we felt it was important that our neighbours at Kingston University should not only get £8 theatre tickets on our Student Tuesdays, but also see the Olympics for free on our big screen.”

Cheap food and drink deals will be offered in their cafe as well as a new plasma TV screen, so sports supporters can watch while they eat.

The screenings will start on July 27 for the opening ceremony and end on August 12, when the Olympics end.
